In 1981 PM Sleep Center was founded in Eau Claire by Pat and Mike Bloss. Prior to that, Mike has spent 10 years in all phases of the mattress business including; retailing, manufacturing, mattress design, and distribution. By the early 80's the waterbed business was between 30-40% of the sleep products industries. This is when Pat and Mike struck out on their own and opened PM Waterbeds in Eau Cla
ire. PM had stores in Duluth, Winona and was affiliated with stores in La Crosse, Milwaukee and the Twin Cities. By the early 90's the waterbed business was oversaturated (no pun intended) and waning. PM then evolved to one of Western Wisconsin's major mattress dealers. During the 90's PM specialized in mid quality to high end sleep products. PM carried hand crafted bedroom furniture made right here in Wisconsin. In 2008, PM purchased a 40,000 square foot building on Eau Claire's south west side. The building was divided into four retail outlets with PM occupying 32,000 square feet. Today PM is the areas only major, locally owned and non-franchised furniture and mattress store. PM features Sealy, Simmons, Stearns and Foster and Corsicanna mattresses. In our store you will find a Flexsteel gallery. Flexsteel has been famous for generations as a source of premium upholstered furniture. PM still carries top quality hand crafted bedroom and dining room furniture. Most of our wood products are made in Wisconsin, some by Amish craftsmen. Combined, our staff has over 80 years experience in serving our neighbors right here in Eau Claire.
