I haven't done an update in a while because I was waiting for positive news to share. I am progressing well & all my medical team is pleased with my progress. After 6 months & 6 surgeries on my ankle, they have allowed me to put gentle weight bearing on my foot & attempt taking a few steps using a walker or cane. I am walking in small amounts throughout the day now. It's exhausting but wonderful. I try to increase my amount each day. I now can see a light at the end of what was a long dark tunnel. I'm hoping by summer I will be back to normal & have the energy to tackle all my orders! Remember, I still have a long wait list & they will be my first priority. As soon as I'm able I will be contacting you for your items. Thank you for all your patience, love, prayers & concerns.❤️🐻

*UPDATE* Sorry all orders are still on hold. Debbie had the 4th ankle surgery on 1/5 and the 5th surgery on 1/13 and the surgery did not go as expected. She is still in the hospital and will have a 6th surgery on 1/22. Thank you for all the concerns, prayers, well wishes & lots of love. It has been a long rollercoaster of recovery. She's good & working very hard to get back to a normal life & especially her sewing.

*UPDATE* I've had so many messages inquiring if I'm taking orders yet. Current orders are all on hold & I am not taking new orders at this time. Even since my last update 5 days ago, I've had more complications. The skin over the bone graft area is dying. I am having 2 surgeries next week on my ankle. On 1/5 my orthopedic surgeon is going in to debride & prep the area, shave down the bone, replace harware & address any thing that needs attention in order to do a skin graft. On 1/6 a plastic surgeon will do the skin graft.it will be another 6 weeks at least post op recovery. As soon as I can walk again, I will start sewing. No one wants that more than I do! Thank you all for you love, concern & your patience. I decided that each order will a have a special unexpected item to thank all of you for being such loyal customers/ friends!❤️
A HAPPY, HEALTHY & GREAT NEW YEAR TO EACH OF YOU!
I'm positive that it will be a much better year!

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas. May you find love & joy through the holidays & have many special times with family & friends. Thank you all so much for your kindness, your concern & your love during my unexpected issue & my long recovery. I will have another surgery on my ankle the week after New Years Day. Hopefully this will put me on the right path to being able to walk again & to be myself. I really miss sewing & can't wait until I can start doing all your orders again. I have so many new ideas.

Today we honor all the men and women who sacrificed their lives for our country to allow us to have all the freedom and privileges that we have today. It has been a special honor for me to have created many memory items over the years for these great men & women.❤️

Update! I am scheduled for my next surgery, which will start the reconstruction of my ankle, on Nov. 13th. I will have 3 months recuperation after that - 4-6 weeks no walking. Then 2 months of walking with a boot. A slow but positive progression! Thank you for all the love, messages & prayers. It really helped!!

Memory Bears Update:
This is Debbie’s daughter, Robin. Due to a serious medical situation, my mom is unable to take on new orders at this time. Once she is able, she will complete the bears already in progress and those on her waitlist, in the order they were received. Due to the seriousness of her condition, we are not able to guarantee completion times and will not be accepting Christmas orders. Thank you so much for your patience, kindness, and understanding, as we help my mom get back to full strength.

Remembering Dad. Made from his work shirts with his name tags, his flannel shirt & his suit vest. These handsome little guys were picked up this weekend & are now home with family. The ears muzzle & paws were made from the vest lining. Of course I like to add a heart on the foot.❤️

Grandma finally has her bear! Two years ago I totally lost my heart to a sweet baby girl & her whole family. You may remember the story of Emilia Grace. Every year in February I post about the 10 days of paying it forward with kindness & love in rememberence of her short life and all the love that she brought in that brief time. Mom, Dad & her 3 brothers all had bears made with each one picking out their favorite outfits. Grandma finally has her own bear which she picked up today.Tucked in the pocket is a little picture of Emelia Grace.❤️

Today was a very difficult day of sewing. One year ago today my twin sister, Diane went to her heavenly home from a sudden brain aneurysm. We had so much to do together yet that won't happen now. So today I worked on orders as usual but it did not go well. I broke 4 needles & did you know it's especially difficult to sew through your tears. I couldn't see to thread the needle but I continued on because it was a distraction that I needed today. I always say for all of you, I sew from my heart with my hands & through my tears & today I truly did! Side note: no items were injured by tear drops. ( just had to add a little humor there)..
