We found some Custom made red oak cabinet shims today. These are used to level and plumb cabinets for correct installation.
These shims were used on a subgrade concrete slab. Oak is less susceptible to expansion and contraction due to moisture and temperature changes than traditional pine shims. Nowadays, we use composite shims for this application… yet still occasionally hardwood shims.
