Bay to Breakers Fun Run

Running or walking the Bay to Breakers Fun Run has become quite a prestigious event. There are so many feet, but not much room to put them. With it being a very impacting event, leave early for a good place in the crowd.
The Bay to Breakers originated in 1912, with the route changing a bit. Now it starts near The Embarcadero, and ends at the Great Highway, near where the “breakers crash” into the Pacific Ocean. People from all walks enjoy this wild event! You will find gorilla outfits, past presidents, most likely the recent president, and you may even see a Marilyn Monroe costume. Who knows who you’ll see? You’ll see shirtless, almost bottomless (whatever people can get away with) it seems.
Thousands compete, or rather, go out for fun. There are actual winners, so give yourself plenty of room for the “die-hards” who are in this for more than just fun. Go with a friend…Strength in numbers, as they say. Stay safe.
Since the event is so very well-attended, who wants to sit on BART, depend on the buses to get you there, or drive and sit in traffic? Please don’t drive and do take public transportation. Traffic will be at a standstill, so keep in mind…

A Special Day for Mom…
She is the one who took care of your scraped knees, told you a good night story, and baked your favorite birthday cake. Moms are special. They often know what to say to make it better.

Mother’s Day is celebrated in about 50 countries, and sentiments are spoken and translated in many languages. If you cannot visit with mom in person, take some flowers or just visit at her resting place. She is there, and she knows you care.
The first Mother’s Day was celebrated on May 9, 1914. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday of each year as Mother’s Day, and to be a national holiday. He requested that all Americans say a public “thank you” to all mothers. Life was never the same, as we began our yearly acknowledgement of Mom’s special day.
There are many events in the Bay Area to help you remember and celebrate. Festivals, carnivals, brunches, and 5k runs are all perfect to help applaud, or commemorate the person who gave you life. It’s what we do.

Picnics…Blessed to Have Family Gatherings

Having the ability to gather at a family picnic or outing is a blessing. We all know a place where we and our family enjoy meeting up.
