I’ve mentioned my love of bread making before but in case you missed it, it’s something I picked up during quarantine. This was a bread board I made back in 2009 (I often inscribe pieces with personalized messages and/or dates) and in my opinion, it’s only gotten better with age! I’ve been inspired to make more lately and have added them to my Etsy page. I’ll post more photos but in the meantime, feel free to check them out (link in bio). *Work in progress photo* this project is for a client with a love of Mondrian inspired art and a bit different from the organic, live edge pieces that I most commonly get asked about. This client had so much vision and I loved working under her direction to make this piece a reality. If you look closely, you can see a small wall in the center right. That is the back of a hidden shelf that is only accessible to someone standing behind the piece and invisible to anyone looking at it straight on. This is half of the whole project and is maple with mortise and tenon joinery and finished with OSMO which I’ve been using more of lately - it’s an oil and wax finish that leaves the surface well protected but also gives provides a silky smooth feeling.
