Classical Mahogany Round End Tables
I delivered these two round end tables to their new home in New England a few weeks ago. The tables stand 25" high with a diameter of 23" and include a small drawer. The unfinished pictures are from my shop. I have also included a picture of one of the tables in the customer's home

Finally!
Seems like yesterday I was opening paint cans with my three, plastic handled, Ace Hardware chisels. Now, all of a sudden I have a multitude of excellent chisels, carving tools, and wood rasps stuck in drawers and boxes around the shop. Time to give them a home.
The case is cherry and the drawer faces are maple. The design of the case could easily be modified and resized to function as a jewelry box.

OFFICE DESK
I decided it was time to make something for myself! This solid mahogany desk now graces my home office. I designed the desk in a "Queen Ann" style. The desk is comprised of the lower desk and a detachable upper gallery. Legs are hand carved and feature inlayed banding. Because desks today usually house multiple electronic devices - and I have an aversion to wires running all over my work space - I incorporated a hidden channel in the back of the gallery to route the lighting and computer wires.

Newport Tea Table
This mahogany Tea Table is based on several elegant Tea Tables that were crafted in the Newport, R.I. shop of John Goddard in the mid 1700's. Most of my work is commissioned but I have admired this table for many years and was intrigued by the challenge of the ball and claw feet, the carved knees and the beautiful sculpted shape.
It is a true replica of the Goddard original (one of which recently sold at auction for $8.4mm). The ball-and-claw feet are hand carved as well as the knee carvings on the cabriole legs. The top is scooped from solid mahogany and the edge moldings are carved rather than applied - so it all one piece. And, of course, all traditional mortise and tenon joinery. Dimensions are 33” wide and 20” deep. It is 27” high - as a tea table it is a little taller that a modern coffee table.
I am asking $2000. If you are interested or have a question, just DM me and we can connect by phone.

Cherry Drop-Lid Desk and Secretary
This Secretary / Desk is ready for delivery. The casework for both the desk and secretary are joined with hand-cut dovetails. Also, the desk and curved gallery doors are dovetailed on four corners. The secretary features glass doors, adjustable shelves and interior lighting.

Glass-Front Kitchen Cabinet
I delivered this large, glass-front, mahogany cabinet this week. This cabinet features interior lighting and adjustable shelves. It was a challenge handling this big guy in the shop by myself but it was fun to build. The last picture shows the cabinet after the new owner started to "populate" the interior.

Mahogany Desk and Secretary
It's has been a while since I last posted a new piece - and I think you will see why; I have been working on this desk & secretary for several months. The design tends toward Queen Anne, adapted to the specific space and style requirements of the client - including an access port for charging devices in the gallery. And yes, the client is a Mason, hence the Masonic inlay on the gallery door.
The piece is constructed using traditional joinery (mortise and tenon, hand-cut dovetails) and is made of mahogany. The small, inlaid door is maple, walnut, cherry and mahogany. Brasses are from Horton Brasses of Connecticut.

Architectual Posts, Revisited
A couple of months ago I posted a pair of architectual posts I made for a friend who was in the process of creating a dream kitchen in her new home. Last week she sent a picture of the posts installed in her new kitchen. I promised to post them - so here they are (along with the original picture of the unfinished and uninstalled posts). Always fun to see your work installed in such a beautiful setting!

More to Come!
I made this desk as a house warming gift for a family friend. Not sure where the design came from as she just sent me a picture and the dimensions she wanted. As you can see, I finished mahogany top but, as she is an excellent painter (and I am not), she will paint the curved legs and casework. I placed a wiring port in the back center of the top and created a channel inside the case so computer wires etc., can exit the bottom of the case at the ends without interfering with the dovetailed drawers. That way, no wires will hang over the edge of the desk.

I'll post again when I get pictures of the painted piece - I'm really excited to see the finished desk.

Finally!
Over a year ago I completed the second of a pair of dining room, glass front, china cabinets. Then covid happened and this piece has been sitting under a moving blanket in a corner of my shop for over a year. Well, I finally was able to deliver the piece last week and it now sits across the dining room from it's sibling.

Architectual Post
I made these elegant posts for a family friend who is in the process of creating her "dream kitchen." They are made of yellow pine and poplar and, once painted, will become the corner posts supporting a kitchen counter.

Something a little different for me. This Planting Bench is made of solid white oak, a wood noted for weather resistence and durability. The case includes mortise and tenon joinery. The feet, at the point of contact with the ground or floor, have a 1/8" poured epoxy resin pad to prevent weather damage.
