Our latest restoration - this antique oak table had a terrible fog from hot dishes having been set on it without protection causing white heat marks. It had been in storage for a few years, but we were able to restore it without a total refinish. Our process returned it to its original beauty and saved the client several hundred dollars. This 100+ year old ice box was a major restoration project. It had been blackened by a house fire, endured countless moves, power drill experiments from children, etc. . . Complete restoration required complete stripping, sanding, structural repairs, cleaning and polishing of all of the original brass hardware, repair and matching of holes, a completely new oak interior, special order replacement of the beveled mirror, cleaning and replacement of glass. New matching oak trim was made for the lower front and the glass trim. It was finished in Weathered Oak Stain and hand rubbed Tung Oil. Our client was thrilled with the results, and it looks amazing in their home. This was a family heirloom that had been in storage for years and can now rejoin family life.

This coffee table came to us after suffering many years of abuse and sitting in storage. It was a mess and missing part of its glass top. We completely stripped and repaired it, replacing the glass top with oak. We refinished it with espresso on the legs and medium oak on the top. It has 5 coats of satin polyurethane and a hand rubbed wax finish. This table is ready for many years of beautiful use. It is for sale. $175.00.

We also build custom furniture. We just completed this rustic cedar sportsman’s locker unit. It is made from red cedar and stands 7 ft tall by 5 1/2 ft wide. The customer already had one and contacted us to make one to match it.

This bench came to our workshop in very weak, wobbly condition. It was originally made with twist spindle legs that had been attached to the top leg blocks with a single wood dowel each. There was also only the lower center support, which was very inadequate considering the light duty connection points at the top. Every joint had wiggled loose.

We took the entire leg assembly apart, reglued the joints, and added a new support system. The arrows in the second photo indicate the new structural and design elements that we added. The small box at the connection point of each leg serves as a form for high strength resin epoxy, as well as design elements helping to balance the weight of the large leather seat with the base. Side rails on the bottom were added for support, as well as trim around each “foot” adding architectural balance to the design.

This bench Is now very strong, and the weighty seat is much more balanced with the base.
