Thursday 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Family program 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm


Many theme related activities are already in progress for all programs for all Dens/Ranks. Some of the stations are Archery, BB’s, Wrist Rockets, Scout Skills/Woodworking, Arts & Crafts, Fishing, as well as individual den activities such as songs and skits. Most of all we want everyone to just have FUN!

If you have anyone who still might be interested in Day Camp, the final cut off is Sunday night at 5:00 pm. Please have your parents email me at [email protected]. For my own sanity, I need to start putting the Dens together, running reports, prepping the binders, and sorting the shorts when they arrive next week. No Exceptions!

Quick Day Camp Update since I'm back up to speed again.

CPR/First Aid Training: CPR/First Aid Training will be held June 9th. Registration closes tomorrow so if you want to register, comment below and I will send you the link. Cost is $50 and will be from 9-3. If you didn't receive my email from last week, let me know.

Day Camp Training will be the week of June 11th. I'm working on the times. More to follow but I'm waiting for the shirt order so I can distribute them at the training.

Community Service: You can't have Pirates without Parrots. We will be collecting items for a parrot rescue so if you have any old hand towels 20"x35" (no lace), Flat Sheets (any size)-no elastic, Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Newspaper (no Inserts), bring your donations to camp or reach out to me so we can coordinate a day/time to meet. We will also be taking up a collection so that the camp can make a donation to the foundation.

Daycamp registration is open through Monday if you have any Cub or Adults who want/need to register. Youth Volunteers are full so if anyone registers, I will be issueing refunds.

Day Camp Upate: Keep saving toilet paper and paper towel rolls. I'm also in need of the cardboard egg cartons for arts and crafts. If you have styrofoam egg cartons, I can donate those to a local farm but I really really need the cardboard ones for camp. I will be at roundtable next week so feel free to bring them. Are there any troops who would be interested in running a station for a day at Day Camp? A leader from the troop would need to be there to oversee the activity. I would love to have a different troop each day with the exception of Thursday since it's our short day.

For those of you who missed Roundtable...

This is a good example for how we are thinking about Day Camp this year:

1. This is the woodworking project for Wolf scouts. - Day Camp will have a wood working station.

2. No scout has done this project in Day Camp - Day Camp will have scouts doing new things.

3. This is designed to be aligned to scout advancement. The Wolf Elective - Adventures with Coin - Requirement 6 says, “create a balance scale”. - Day Camp will be aligned to Cub Scout advancement.

4. The balance scale will start as a pre-cut kit that the scout will assemble himself. - Day Camp activities will be age appropriate.

5. The balance scale uses repurposed materials - Day Camp follows the Outdoor Code - we reuse, reduce, and recycle to be conservation minded.

6. This is an affordable project - by keeping project costs low we can make camp affordable to more scouts and families.

7. This will require collaboration between scouts and adults - Day Camp fosters healthy and safe relationships between scouts and adult leaders.

8. The scout will take this home. When I put this on the dining room table my kids (a AOLer, a Tiger, and a soon-to-be Lion) immediately began to play and experiment with it - Scouts will have fun in Day Camp.

9. When your scout takes this home their friends will see this. When your scout is asked, “what is that?” ... they will likely say, “that is just something I MADE AT SCOUT CAMP.” - Day Camp is a program that promotes Scouting.

This is how we are planning: everything we do is thought through with scouts positive experience as the goal.
