Now Live Well Designs, I will help you create intentional spaces through layout planning & consultations. Hi my name is Gail Dorhout, I have a LOVE for anything and everything related to home decor and design! I have been remodeling and flipping homes for over 20 years! And I have shared my love of design and decor with numerous people by helping them with their home remodel and new build needs,

or simply decorating and restyling their unique space they call HOME! Shanty Chic was created in 2013 when this passion for home decor and design went from a hobby to a business. Shanty Chic mainly began as repurposing and painting furniture and soon grew into home decor and interior design and home styling. Most days you will find me painting furniture to sell to someone looking for a new one-of-a-kind piece for their home, custom painting an heirloom piece of furniture inherited from someones great grandmother, searching for the next fun piece I can bring back to life or give a new purpose, or even drawing up a new design for a home that is feeling its age and then styling that new space for the finishing touch! For more than 10 years, youā€™ve known me as Shanty Chicā€”a journey that began with a love for transforming the old into something beautiful. But as Iā€™ve grown, so has my philosophy. Design isnā€™t just about the furniture in a room; itā€™s about how that room makes you feel and how it supports your daily life.
Thatā€™s why I am thrilled to announce the official rebranding of Shanty Chic to Live Well Designs.
Over the last five years, Iā€™ve traded the storefront for a studio approach, offering professional Room Layout Planning, Personal Consultations, and Creative Design.
Now, as Live Well Designs, I continue my commitment to soul, character, and the belief that your home should be your sanctuary. I still believe in the "chic," but now I am helping you live well within it.
