Workshop buddy and Workshop Dog finished all the prep today which means it's time for some color!! We're going from a discarded hutch top to a showstopper display case. Just close one eye and squint really hard 😁Prepare to be shocked! (Like in a good way) 🤣

The workshop vibes are going for heavy irony today. I'm doing actual geometry to fix a drawer problem, and Bob Marley starts jammin to "Everything is going to be Alright" on the radio. Just know there was HEAVY eye roll, and I did tell Bob to stop lying to me.

I can definitely understand how one look at this little table would make someone think, just put it on the curb. It's quirky, has several layers of paint, the drawers are sticking and the top is beyond a mess. That's enough to make any beginner throw in the towel. I'm glad that instead of being put on the curb, it was just dropped off in my driveway. They knew it needed a specialist! My workshop buddy knocked out all the cleaning, then handed off the disassembled parts to me. It always looks worse before it looks better folks! This required some carpentry to replace a missing chunk, Bondo to fill the seams of said missing chunk and reinforce a corner, caulking for clean lines and gluing so the top stays where it should. All for a tiny table. 🧰 Once the repairs were finished and my work was done my workshop buddy got the honor of moisturizing all the bare wood and decided she liked that job over some of her others. 🤣 This table had a journey, haven't we all, but hot dog is she looking good now!!
