"Conjoined" - the twins are taking a break from their juggling routine to celebrate their birthday in their little to***co tin trailer. They've got all the guests they need with their best friend teddy, the magician's dove and a carnival prize fish from the game next door. The colored lights are twinkling, the crazy quilt walls are cozy and marvelous presents await unwrapping.

I can't wait to bring this to the SLC Oddities & Curiosities Expo happening NEXT WEEKEND!! 9/12 and 9/13! I hope to see you there!

Components include: a hodgepodge of antique doll parts, old silk handkerchief, various vintage ribbon, lace and trims, tiny teddy, vintage children's blocks, found branch, antique to***co tin, peachy plug to***co metal sign, 1920s crazy quilt scraps, mini Xmas lights, tiny bowling pin and more.

Story time! Meet "Blue" a haunted antique cocker spaniel stuffed animal that I found a few weeks ago. He's got such a good feel to him, I just knew someone had loved him very much. When I interviewed the spirit attached he told me his name was Blue and that this dog had been his since childhood. Not only was this his cherished companion, but also a fond reminder of the cocker spaniels he kept as pets. He lived a happy, long life and passed peacefully. I can feel that he was a kind and peaceful person who really loved his dogs. This dog had soaked up a lifetime of happy memories and feels like a faithful friend.
Today was Blue's first time traveling with Ephemera Obscura's Doll Orphanage and I am so happy to tell you it was his last. He was adopted today by the most amazingly empathetic little girl at the Omaha Oddities & Curiosities Expo
She asked me a few questions about haunted dolls and then spent at least an hour getting acquainted with everyone in the Orphanage. She paused occasionally to tell me that this one had winked at her or another doll had moved and the dog's ears were wiggling on their own when she had asked them to. It was so cute and I was thinking she had a fantastic imagination.
Some time had passed and she came back to me holding Blue saying that they'd become friends and her mom was going to let her adopt him. Then she sat Blue down and showed me his tricks. "Do you want to come home with me? Move your right ear for yes or left for no." ... Blue's right ear wiggled back and forth. I was pretty surprised. I began to check for a breeze, surely they will continue to swing in the breeze? No. The ears hung completely still until she asked if he liked being called "Bluey". Wow, that right ear swung stiffly back and forth a few times then stopped. Well, now that's interesting. She continued to ask questions and each time the answer would come with a wiggle of Blue's ears. It didn't look like they were gently moving in the air but like someone invisible had hold of the bottom and was moving it to and fro. It was so strange and amazing to behold. This is the kind of connection the Orphanage was made for and it made my heart so happy ❤️🤗

"Velveteen Bears" - these haunted teddy bears have literally been loved to death. According to brothers "Gordon" (brown bear) and "Nicholas" (panda bear), the spirits attached to these Teddies, these childhood toys represent the very close bond between them. You can feel the residual energy and emotions of how much they loved, cared for and comforted eachother. I love how they've been repaired again and again, they've had the realness worn into them just like the Velveteen Rabbit.

"Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.'

'Does it hurt?' asked the Rabbit.

'Sometimes,' said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. 'When you are Real you don't mind being hurt.'

'Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,' he asked, 'or bit by bit?'

'It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand." - The Velveteen Rabbit
