Happy New Year to all of you. I found a poem I wanted to share.

The Four Candles

The Four Candles burned slowly.
Their ambiance was so soft you
could hear them speak.....

The First Candle said, "I Am Peace,
But these days, nobody wants to
keep me lit." Then Peace's flame
slowly diminishes and goes out
completely.

The Second Candle said, "I am Faith,
but these days, I am no longer
indispensable." Then Faith's flame
diminishes and goes out completely.

Sadly the Third Candle speaks, "I am
Love and I haven't the strength to stay
lit any longer. People put me aside and
don't understand my importance. They
even forget to love those who are
nearest to them." Waiting no longer,
Love goes out completely.

Suddenly.... A child enters the room and
sees the three candles no longer burning.
The child begins to cry, "Why are you not
burning? You are supposed to stay lit until
the end!"

Then the Fourth Candle speaks gently to
the little child, "Don't be afraid, for I Am
Hope, and while I still burn, we can re-light
the other candles."

With shining eyes the child took the Candle
of Hope and lit the other candles.

Never let the Flame of Hope go out of your
life. With Hope, no matter how bad thigs look
and are....Peace, Faith and Love can Shine Brightly
in our lives.

This year let's keep in mind the real importance
in life. Wishing all of you Peace, Faith, Love
and most of all Hope for the New Year.

I live in a small community that is not unlike 100's of communities in this great country. I just returned from a civic celebration of National Flag Day. As always I am struck with the countless people, that in their small way take time to celebrate their respect and reverence for the iconic symbol. Even more so the work and effort on the part of the special citizen and member of our business community that has made this his focus and special gift to our community.
It made my mind wander back in time to that special combination of will, spirit, and determination that was so instrumental in the creation of this great country. That unique blend of attributes that miraculously came together at a special time historically to create a nation so special that it has survived the test of time and challenges that exists still to this day.
It amazes me that this special population created not only this great nation but all that comprises it's existance.
Because our business "The Seraph", encompasses the period from 1675 to 1835, I am in wonder at what ingenious strides were made. Just from the standpoint of handcrafted and design of furniture, textile, paint and color, architecture, technical advancements, farming and food production, medical advancements, and inventions. All of these changed the course of humanity. Imagine, they came with nothing but a few personal belongings, what knowledge they could contribute, and a strong desire for freedom.
That combination created untold progress. This nation and all that we are blessed to enjoy began with nothing more than what I call "The American Spirit". Yes, it is what I have loved and enjoyed all these 50 years. It is this quality that I have helped a 92 year old woman redecorating her living room because she wanted to "spruce things up". To the terminal brain tumor husband who wanted to make sure his wife had the home she always wanted. (Miraculously he survived and lived to enjoy it with her.) A 10 year old little girl who was raised within a primitive homelife, who wanted an Ugly Picture(Primitive painting) for her bedroom. This is just a few of the many many stories of The American Spirit I have experienced. This is my hope, that this energy and soul has permeated the very fabric of all that we hold dear. The energy that can be infused into a project, a cause, a desire, will breathe life into whatever we love and cherish. This is what separates us, makes us unique. I see it every day in many ways. From creating your special home or garden, to your job, or a civic project. It is the reason we will survive and thrive. We are so blessed to live in the greatest country in the world and it comes with a good dose of American Spirit.

Respectfully submitted,

Alexandra Pifer

To all of our loyal friends and families, This will be our 40th Christmas that we have shared. More than ever before can I say that the gift of health be more appreciated and grateful for the safety of all that we know and cherish. The fact that we live in a time so different from all the freedoms we have enjoyed, and even though we still have so many blessings that have become glaringly obvious. So again I am thankful and make a promise to myself and all who touch our lives to be a better person, and do all I can to preserve all that we hold dear. God bless and keep you safe in the palm of his hand. Looking forward to 2022 with hope and enlightenment. With love, Alex

Hello to our loyal friends:

Even after 40 plus years, I am still trying to locate the very best in Primitive style at the most affordable price. I know you are all looking as I have for a great primitive Christmas tree. I think I have found something really great and even though it is very limited supply, for those of you who want a spartan looking tree that is easy to set up and at a very affordable price.

I have found these great trees, 59", 67", and 81". They are vinyl, as much as I would love to have found something in a natural product, however, they have a great sparse look, and are easily assembled and stored. The quantities are very limited. The prices are: 59" - $59.95, 67" - $99.95, and 81" - $199.95, plus shipping and handling.

We hope that these wonderful trees will be a great addition to your Primitive Country celebration. We are hopeful that we will be returning to a more normal and happy lifestyle and this may be the beginning of your family celebration. We here at the Seraph wish for us all the return to the appreciation of simple and treasured times once again.

Fondly, Alex, Mike, Linda, Melinda, and Bill

Dear friends, We are hoping that you are experiencing some of the weight of the pandemic lifted and beginning to enjoy close friends and family. Obtaining already difficult to get product has been a challenge. You, our clients, and your country needs have a high priority for us. We have been working diligently to obtain the desirable Lindsey Woolsey in red and mustard. We have been out for awhile and we have finally ordered and will receive a limited amount around Christmas. We are doing something we have never done before. If you would like to reserve yardage , which might be the last time to obtain this, we are taking preorders with a 50% deposit. Even though the prices have increased along with freight and handling, we are going to keep the same pricing of $40 per yard. It is 54" wide and in the same quality as we have produced in the past. So think ahead because once it is gone we may never have an opportunity to have it again.
Wishing you all pride and grateful patriotic fervor on this very important Fourth of July.
From all of us at The Seraph,
Alex
