We invite you to use our page to engage in insightful conversations about news stories and issues in our community. Although we do not pre-screen comments and allow open commenting on our page, please follow our guidelines if you plan to post on any of NowDecatur or Neuhoff Media’s social channels. NowDecatur and Neuhoff Media does not discri
minate based on race, color, religion, national origin or sex. The comments made by outside individuals do not necessarily reflect our views and are the responsibility of the person posting them. We reserve the right to take down any comments we deem inappropriate on our page. Below is a list of examples of the type of content we will remove:
-Profane, defamatory, offensive or violent language or pictures
-“Trolling”, or posting deliberately disruptive statements meant to hijack comment threads or throw discussions off-track
-Content determined to be inappropriate, in poor taste, or otherwise contrary to the purposes of the forum
-Information that is false or misleading
-Attacks on specific groups or any comments meant to harass, threaten or abuse an individual
-Hateful or discriminatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or political beliefs
-Links or comments containing sexually explicit content material
-Discussion of illegal activity
-Spam, link baiting or files containing viruses that could damage the operation of people’s computers or mobile devices
-Acknowledgement of intent to stalk an individual or collect private information without disclosure
-Libel, slander or defamation of character
-Commercial solicitations, inappropriate comments or promotion of a competitor
-Violations of copyright or intellectual property rights
-Content that relates to confidential or proprietary business information
-Personal promotion
-Private information about an individual, such as name, address, phone number, social security number, license plate number, hometown, school, without the consent of the individual (Doxing)
-Photos or videos without consent from the subject (permission from the subject’s parent or guardian), photographer or videographer
We reserve the right to ban individuals from our page who repeatedly post any of the above type of content. We reserve the right at all times to remove any information or materials that are unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane, indecent or otherwise objectionable to us, and to disclose any information necessary to satisfy the law, regulation, or government request.
