Step inside one of our latest high-end condo renovations in beautiful Daytona Beach Shores.

From the seventh-floor balcony overlooking the ocean to the refined finishes throughout the interior, this project was designed to bring together elevated coastal living and thoughtful craftsmanship.

In this video, we’re sharing a first look at a project we’re in the final stages of completing. Featured throughout the space is the Cali Floors Laguna collection, paired with elegant Tier 4 porcelain countertops and a custom entertainment bar created specifically for effortless hosting and mixing drinks when guests arrive.

One of our customers told us, “I hate my kitchen… please help!”

This condo in Daytona Beach Shores was built in the early 1960's and this lovely couple felt like their kitchen was small, closed off, and very very outdated. They had seen a neighbor’s condo that we remodeled a couple of years ago and loved the transformation. At first, they were thinking about doing something similar with new cabinets and countertops.

Then they asked us, “Do you have any ideas? What would you do?” 💡

We suggested removing the wall to open up the space and completely change the feel of the kitchen. We paired shaker-style cabinets with beautiful Italian porcelain countertops and Cali Floors to give it a fresh, modern look.

They loved the idea! To make it even more special, we also added a boutique-style bar area since they enjoy entertaining friends.

Cali’s Laguna collection is easy to install because it combines a user-friendly click-lock system with pre-attached underlayment and a forgiving rigid core, eliminating several traditional flooring headaches.

Why It’s DIY-Friendly
• Drop-and-Lock Click System: The planks use a Uniclic®-style drop-lock mechanism. You simply angle the short end into place, drop the plank flat, and tap the long edge—no glue, no nails, and no complicated angling required.

• Pre-Attached Underlayment: Each plank comes with a pre-attached IXPE foam pad. This means you don’t need to roll out separate underlayment, saving a full step and reducing material costs.

• Rigid WPC Core: The wood-plastic composite (WPC) core is rigid yet slightly more forgiving than stone-plastic (SPC) vinyl. It bridges minor subfloor imperfections (up to 3/16” over 10’) without telegraphing bumps, reducing prep time.

• No Acclimation Required: Unlike solid hardwood or some engineered woods, Cali LVP does not require acclimation before installation. You can install it immediately after delivery, even in temperature-controlled spaces.

• Easy Cutting: The 10–12mm thickness cuts cleanly with a utility knife and straight edge (score-and-snap method) for most straight cuts, though a miter saw or jigsaw is faster for complex cuts.

• Floating Installation: As a floating floor, it expands and contracts with temperature/humidity changes without buckling, and it can be installed directly over most existing hard surfaces (tile, vinyl, concrete, plywood) without removal.

Installation Speed:
A typical DIYer can install 200–400 sq. ft. per day with basic tools (tape measure, utility knife, tapping block, pull bar, and a rubber mallet). The drop-lock system is particularly forgiving for beginners since planks can be unlocked and repositioned if you make a mistake during the first few rows.

Pro Tip: The only critical prep step is ensuring your subfloor is clean, dry, and flat (within 3/16” over 10’). If your subfloor meets that spec, you can start laying planks immediately.
