You should always clean your furniture before adding a polish. Adding too much polish and not cleaning before adding another coat can lead to a soft finish. The finish and color can start to wipe off when cleaning and polishing in the future. It also can make the finish soft where things you put on the top can leave impression in the finish.

This is a dining table we did awhile back. Her home was in a magazine. She actually picked the colors. Beautiful.

This was a vomit green with alot of damage filled with hardware junk. Now its a beautiful asian piece for her plates in the dining room. Pretty.

Moving damage happens. Make sure that when your moving, you buy the insurance for repair/ replacement value of the furniture. This way if there is damage you can have it repaired or replaced at no extra cost to you. This way it doesn't send you to the moon
