Highlights from our Ekornes Stressless Factory tour yesterday morning!

“The legendary Stressless® recliner was born on the west coast of Norway, in the small community of Sykkylven, where our main factory still lies. Jens Ekornes founded the company in 1934, after which an unbroken lineage of proud craftsmen have produced some of the world’s finest furniture. In a place where resources were scarce, everything had to be built to last. That philosophy still resides within the factory walls.”

I made it! After traveling for 24 hours and taking 4 flights and a bus ride, I arrived to the quaint and charming town of Alesund, Norway where the Ekornes Showroom is and our home for the night. We are LOVING this new sophisticated, yet warm and cozy space - just installed today! Joan and her client worked together to re-design this den and changed the layout of the room. They selected new custom furniture including this handsome sofa in a gorgeous wool plaid, chair in an aspen green fabric, equestrian pillows, coffee leather cocktail ottoman, rich cherry side tables, sisal area rug, and the icing on the cake...the gorgeous window treatments with a striking velvet border. Beautiful work, as always, Joan!!
