A secure school entrance can still feel like a school.
When districts consider upgrading entrances with ballistic glass, the solution involves more than simply replacing conventional glazing.
The glass, framing, doors, hardware, anchorage, surrounding construction, access control, and everyday function of the entrance all need to be considered as part of the overall security system.
Depending on the existing conditions, the right approach may be to upgrade portions of the current entrance, replace specific components, or engineer an entirely new ballistic window system or secured vestibule. There is no one-size-fits-all solution.
Our newest guide explains what schools should evaluate before beginning a ballistic glass or entrance-security project.
