Walk through once and you’ll spot an antique. Circle back and suddenly it’s a rug, a piece of art, or something completely random you somehow need.

You know when a room is perfectly nice…but it just doesn’t quite feel like you yet? That’s usually where I’d start.

• Add one piece that has a little history
• Swap one matching piece for something unexpected
• Bring in a rug with more personality
• Hang art you actually love, not just what fits the wall
• Mix in a finish or wood tone that isn’t already everywhere
• Leave one spot a little imperfect so the room can keep evolving

And really, don’t overthink it. Your home gets a whole lot more interesting when you stop worrying about whether everything “goes” and start choosing things you actually love.
