Earlier this summer, I was asked to freshen up the Dakota Elementary Library. New sofas, chairs, tables, rugs, wallpaper, lamps, paint, pictures and other accessories really helped to warm up this space. I hope the students, teachers and staff enjoy their "new" library, and that it might encourage the kids to want to hang out in there and read more...because cool kids read books.

"Use what you have decorating" is one of my favorite kinds of decorating. It's a fun and economical way to bring new life into items you already have.

The gallery wall by my front door has been the same for at least four years. I've been wanting to give it a fresh and clean update for some time. When I saw an "as is" clock on clearance, I knew it was the starting focal piece for that wall. I sold my old clock for the same price as the as is clock, (winning!) Then, I took the rest of the little stuff down, walked around my home and found some items that worked. I think it all came together nicely.

Don't be afraid to shop around your home, you might be surprised what you find....and you'll save some money too. 🤍

My client wanted simple decor to fill this beautiful venue. Faux flower centerpieces and arrangements were used to coordinate with her real flower bouquets. Lots of candles and eucalyptus were added to complete the look.

I had the privilege of working in two friends' homes this week. This friend needed help with her kids' rooms. I've known these kids since the day they were born, so it was special and fun giving their rooms a little refresh. A combination of things they already had, some new accessories and a bit of rearranging, really freshened up their spaces.

A vintage chair from a dear friend, a camera and flowerpot from your grandma and an old window from your grandpa. Don't be afraid to mix new with the old. Go ahead and buy that cool, new piece from your favorite home decor store and mix it in with your special and meaningful pieces. Be eclectic and have fun. 💙
