Our Story

Hey there! I’m Wendy and here’s my story... I started painting and refinishing furniture out of a sheer need for change and a very limited budget. My home was filled with furniture I inherited from my mother after her death. I had so many quality pieces that didn’t fit my personal style or home design. I couldn’t part with them as I was/am too emotionally attached and quite frankly I couldn’t afford to replace them. After hearing about the wonders of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and watching countless video tutorials, I drove to my local stockist and got my supplies and loaded up my courage and my coffee cup and started painting… One by one, I started painting those tired honey oak finishes, dark walnut stained pieces into fabulous new finishes. I was amazed at the difference and the finishes I could create! That lead me to open a booth and start Southern Charmed. It now serves as a creative outlet for my love of refurbishing and re-purposing old forgotten furniture and my passion for helping others express their personal style in their homes. We now offer custom services on refinishing furniture and cabinetry for our clients. All I can say is, God is Good!! I am truly blessed to get to do what I love and serve others in this way!
