Fun surprise, volunteers Izzy and April will be helping out for a free shopping Monday Oct 26th from 11-2 pm.

We are back to taking donations, please pack them into regular sized kitchen trash bags or smaller (no huge contractor bags or boxes please). Limit is 2 bags per family. All donations can be brought to the men’s room, please don’t leave them in the hallway.

Reminder to leave hangers in the plastic bins, not on the racks. Everyone is welcome to shop so bring your friends and neighbors!

This morning I met this lovely crew from Bethesda Lutheran Church in Dresser, who were one of several groups from their church out volunteering in the community today.

They spent their morning at Crystal’s Closet cleaning, sorting, and organizing all of the donations we’ve received recently. They accomplished so much and took a TREMENDOUS load off my shoulders. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate their help.

It takes a village to keep this little free store going, and acts of kindness and generosity like this really make such a difference.

Thank you SO MUCH to Bailey, Maya, Carol, Tamara, Amber and Tina for showing and helping out today! A special thanks to Tina for setting it all up.

If you know these ladies, please be sure to give them a high five, a thumbs up, or just be extra nice to them this week!

We are open and will be here until 3pm today! All these bags you see here are waste. If you have any extra space in your trash can or dumpster to toss a bag or 5 it would be tremendously helpful to us. Thank you!

Today was pretty awesome guys! A couple of kind folks stopped by and helped sort clothing and hangers and we talked about volunteering in the future. Several people also helped take loads of clothing waste to dispose of as well. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have some helping hands around the Closet. It’s hard to ask for help but when you do, people sure show up!

As a little surprise treat, we’ll be open for a BONUS DAY tomorrow, Monday Oct 5th from 12-3. Some of you might recognize Heather who is a local volunteer and will be helping out tomorrow.

We are still not taking donations until we can get through the existing ones. There are plenty of new clothes up in the racks. Thanks to everyone who helped clear some clothing out today!

We are open today from 12-3! Reminder that we are not taking donations today. We are, however, accepting help with disposing off all the unusable donations that we have recently collected. If you have extra space for a bag (or 10), I’ll have of bags piled out in the hallway to take. If you’ve ever wanted to help out at Crystal’s but don’t have time or ability to volunteer, this is a super simple way you can make a big impact.

We’ll be open tomorrow, Sunday Oct 4th from 12-3pm. Free clothing for everyone!

I have an ask, do you have a dumpster? You can help us move through the bags and bags of textile waste by taking one (or a few) to toss in your dumpster and lightening our load. I’m looking into other ways to utilize/recycle/upcycle the discarded and damaged clothing in the future, but for the moment we just need to get some of it out of here. I’ll be piling some of the waste bags in the hallway tomorrow by the back entrance so it’s easy to grab.

We also have a new web site and if you have been interested in volunteering now you can fill out a volunteer interest form there! It’s linked on our socials.

I am excited to share that Crystal's Closet Cushing now has a website. She's still in the early stages, but more will be added over time. One aspect of it that I love is that there is a section to fill out and submit a Volunteer Interest Form!

If you have recently contacted me about volunteering, I have just finished responding to everyone and sent the link to the form directly to you.

We will be open this Sunday, October 4th from 12pm-3pm. NO DONATIONS. I am swamped with donations that have been left after hours so we will not be taking any donations in October. Thank you to everyone for your support around this. I will be sharing some ways you might even be able to help out with all the textile waste.

I also have been working behind the scenes getting some big things organized and I will be sharing about that this week.

Those of you that have contacted me or are interested in volunteering, I'll be getting back to you this week about that too!

I'm really excited to share, so stay tuned!
