Finally, I can post this!!! We recently restored this carousel horse, and wow (whoooaaa?) what a labor of love it was! Here is a bit of a storyboard of its humble (to say the least) beginnings to delivery to its new home (stable?) at The Dark Horse Inn (https://darkhorseflinthill.com) or https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089921895587. This was a gift from Abby to Mark for his restaurant in Flint Hill and done in a "dark horse Irish theme". To see the real thing, be sure to make a reservation as I understand this is a very popular place.

Here's a follow up to Sunday with worser of the two chairs also included. The worser chair had a quad-split, as you might guess by the 13 clamps used. Both are now ready for color and blending.

What I do on a slow Sunday morning... The shop is so backed up with chairs I'm beginning to think it's Chair Season, not Busy Season 🙄🤣. It's a 10-minute video so those of you with short attention spans please grab a snack and know where the pause button is 😁

Here is some updated progress on the mirror. The frame is solid and all glass remounted and secured. I replaced the backing with straight period-correct boards since the originals were in too poor condition to reuse or even attempt to straighten. As they say, all that's left is the rest 😅.

As you see, there are quite a few puzzle pieces to put back in place. Whatever is missing, we will recreate using plaster. More to follow...

I am starting work on this early 18th century mirror. It fell from a wall and needs "just a bit" of work as you see.
