Absolutely Nailed It !!

Katey Augsburger Katz & Conner Katz, off Geneseo Road, brought in a nice straight oak log to be milled into 3 inch slabs. I rinsed one off to display the color contrast to be expected from the heartwood to the sapwood after the finish clear is applied.
The slabs are now stacked, stickered, banded and curing in our Air Shed.
Most local oaks contain fencing or nails. This one was clean.

Cool local history

Road Grader at Creston, California. Image taken 1907-1908 by Alsup of Paso Robles. Creston is located about 6 miles south of Shandon on Highway 41 in the Central Coast area of California. The town's name came from Calvin J. Cressy, who was a landowner in the area. There are 3 great restaurants located there - The Loading Chute, The Creston House and the Longbranch Saloon. Take some time to visit.
