I wish I could share every piece we’ve sold over the last two decades, each one becoming part of someone’s story, quietly woven into their everyday lives. I love imagining where they end up and how they quietly shift a space into something warmer and more lived in. They don’t just fill a room, they become part of its rhythm. Seeing them continue their journey is one of the greatest joys of what we do. Thank you to everyone for stopping by, sending pictures, and to those who quietly admire us. Baba Becak story.
While walking through Jakarta in 2012, I spotted this becak and instantly fell in love with it. I talked with the owner for a while, and before I knew it, he said he would sell it to me. Did I think it would take up almost a quarter of a shipping container to get to the US? Not even once. So naturally... we bought it. These becaks are part of everyday life in Indonesia, full of character and impossible not to notice. This one sat proudly in front of Baba for years until someone from California walked in and fell in love with it too.
