New skill unlocked! I have almost perfected our Liquid Metal finish and it’s looking amazing!

While there is a plethora of ready made products on the market, most use a polymer that I didn’t think was durable enough for a bar top. So we set to work testing our own mix. We paired 99.9% pure copper powder with our favorite bar top epoxy as the binder. Sanded smooth then polished out to a high shine. This should be a show stopper bar when we are done!

Prototype 1 done for our new line of PVC outdoor cabinets! These use a high tech new material called Acer! This rice fiber reinforced PVC sheet material is impervious to salt water and rot, while having a natural wood look! Couple this with PVC glue and 316 stainless hardware and we think we have answered the question on how to build the perfect backyard kitchen on the water with out having to use cinder black or stainless steel cabinets.

Out with the old and in with the new!!!
After 4 years of display at the Corpus Christi International Airport, our tiki hut visitor center is coming down! It feels good to know what every person who flew into our little corner of paradise got to walk past something we built, but time for a change!
We are partnered with VisitCC and the CCIA to build a new visitor Information kiosk/photo op wall that will take the place of the tiki hut right as you come out of security.

It’s amazing what you can do with a pile of really old rough hewn Red oak!
We have had a small stash of some really old red oak planks that we have built some really cool stuff with, but this one is a show stopper!!

Turned rock hard with time, and uniquely colored by water and age is what makes these such a fun material to work with. The trick comes from trying to make them straight and square, while keeping as much of the saw marks and character as possible!
But all the little holes and knots give us a great place to add accent colors to highlight all the little features of the wood! Sanded smooth and finished in Rubios monocoat “dark roast” colored oil/wax finish so all the texture is kept! To us texture of a project like this is one of the most important factors. Everyone that walks past a piece like this will have touch it, so keeping that tactile natural feel is ruined when wood is finished in plastic. So we only use the latest in hard wax/oil finishes that are food safe and easily repaired for a lifetime of use!

Old and new come together!
One of our customers bought these horse head table legs in Mexico years ago. They approached us about doing a slab table with them to put them to uses! We found this beautiful pecan slab and finished it with Rubios Monocoat along with finishing the horse heads to look like new!
Over all a great accent piece for an amazing house in the country!
