CLEANING TIPS FOR OUTDOOR WICKER FURNITURE
Spring is almost here and now we face new challenges. One of these challenges is for people with outdoor resin wicker furniture to prepare their furniture for the new season. Below I have a few suggestions to accomplish this task.
You will need a garden hose, soft-bristle brush, and mild dish soap. For tough stains Goo Gone, Tilex or similar products will help.
1. Wet your furniture with a garden hose or bucket of water.
2. Mix the dish soap in a gallon of water. Use ΒΌ cup of dish detergent to a gallon of warm water.
3. Dip the soft-bristle into the solution and lightly scrub the resin wicker. Take your time and try to get between the weave where dirt tends to collect.
4. Try a mildew remover for moldy spots. Tilex or similar product can be used. Use Goo-Gone for tree sap and other pollination spots. When using these products it is important to rinse your furniture right away. Prolonged exposure to these chemicals can damage the resin wicker.
5. Use the garden hose and give your outdoor wicker furniture a good rinse.
6. Do not use a power washer on your furniture because this can damage the resin wicker.
Of course, you success will vary depending on the condition of your furniture. Also, it is always a good idea to test a small area before doing the entire project.
Have a great spring and summer!
