I finally finished this table. It’s name story is below:

Refiners Fire

This table tells the story of refinement — not destruction, but transformation. Inspired by the prophet Malachi’s image of God as a refiner of silver or gold, The Refiner’s Fire is a visual parable of what it means to be tested by flame and found faithful.
The rich movement of the epoxy represents the turbulence of fire and the beauty born from trial. The wood, with all its character and natural imperfections, stands as a symbol of what we are before we pass through the refining process — raw, real, and ready to be shaped.
This table belongs to the space where growth happens — where lives are lived with purpose, where conversations are honest, and where we allow ourselves to be transformed by grace. It’s not just furniture. It’s a reminder:

We are being refined, not rejected. We are being made pure, not punished.

I am shift the focus for JAH Fine Woodworking to epoxy tables. I create and name the tables based on messages I receive in studies, devotions and prayer. As I start to sell these tables (hopefully) I will share the story and scripture on a framed card. The story for the table below (just finished) follows.

It’s title is - “The light Shines”

There are times when life feels cloaked in shadow — where clarity fades, and the silence grows thick. But even then, God does not leave us without light.
This table was crafted to remind me of the flames that flicker in the dark — not the wild flames of destruction, but the steady ones that warm, guide, and endure. Look closely at the swirling black resin, and you’ll see movement — like embers stirred by breath. These are the quiet fires of faith that refuse to go out.
The pale maple edges represent dawn just beginning to break. Together, the light and dark tell the story of every believer who’s ever walked through the valley and found that Christ was already there — not to remove the night, but to light it.
This table is a call to remember:

The light still shines…….The darkness cannot overcome it.
