A group of researchers at Ohio State is working to find out if AI can play a role in helping to make the results of political polls more accurate.

Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther announced late last week that the city is suspending its use of Flock automatic license plate readers while investigating an officer’s potential misuse of the cameras.

A USA Today investigation found that a Columbus police officer searched for a single vehicle’s location more than 200 times using the city’s Flock cameras.

Fascinating Ohio: Richard Duarte Brown, artist and educator

Duarte is the recent recipient of the The Oshun
Award – a highly prestigious, no-strings-attached financial grant designed to support Black artists and culture workers. It is from local philanthropist Zoe Johnstone and is a part of Zoe’s Fund for Black Artists through the Johnstone Fund for New Music.

He joined us to talk about his art, his community, and his award.

A nationwide City Pulse survey found that nearly 75% of city residents say their central business districts offer a great experience but less than half visit weekly.

Former Ohio State President E. Gordon Gee said he wouldn't fire an Ohio State professor who tackled a documentary cameraman in February.

The viral moment happened in February as Newman, a documentarian carmeraman, and DJ Byrnes, also known as "The Rooster," were questioning former Ohio State President E. Gordon Gee, who was serving as a guest lecturer at the center.

Newman and Byrnes were trying to interview former President E. Gordon Gee inside Smith Laboratory about Ohio billionaire Les Wexner and other topics. In the video, Perez steps in front of Newman to block his access to Gee and then assaults the man, throwing him to the ground.

Perez pled no contest to one count of disorderly conduct in Franklin County Municipal Court on July 20. Perez was fined $100 and sentenced to two years of community control, or parole.

An Ohio State University human resources sanctioning committee recommended that Perez be fired on June 3. He was placed on administrative leave two days after the assault.

Newman is suing Perez and Christopher Green, another faculty member at Ohio State's Salmon P. Chase Center.
