After ten years of creating furniture the Slagle family has decided to make our high quality, custom made furniture available to the public. Handcrafted Ohio is based out of Sunbury, Ohio and serves the greater Columbus area. We have created a variety of pieces, ranging from personalized picture frames to diaper and toy boxes to end and coffee tables. By blending a rustic look with a contemporary

craftsman style, we have created a unique look that is brand new in the furniture industry. My wife recently picked up the new Scout guide from a networking conference and I got to see the feature page! Our cabinets being featured on the page is an honor, these cabinets can be found in their hot yoga room. This room is also unique as it doubles as their child care room for when parents are working out!

We had the fun task to design this prohibition speakeasy style basement. We played with multiple iterations of the rendering to see how best to utilize the smaller space that now lives as The “Parents” basement! The backlit arched uppers make for a great display for bourbon while the 93 bottle wine wall makes a statement when coming down the staircase. Cheers🥂

The team and I got the chance to trek down SR-33 quite a few times to bring this project to fruition last year. The project is in what was once a barn from the early 1900s, meticulously deconstructed and moved to hocking county to be resurrected into this beautiful living space. Natural aging brass fixtures, walnut, and a deep green base helped to invite the natural aspect of the region into the space.

This beast landed in its new home to finish off our 2025. It took 11 guys to take this up one flight of stairs, 16’ long 4’wide 2.5” thick of solid white oak. When the clients say they want one solid top they get one solid top!💪🏻

“Fits like a glove” that’s what any midwestern dad would say if they saw the way this slid right into place. Bay windows are notoriously out of level, plumb and just about every other direction you can think but we make them look as if it was built by a talented Japanese craftsman. Another beautiful project collaboration between making interior design dreams come true.

14’ table landed in its new home, this beaut features 2.5” thick solid oak top with a bullnose round over. Took 5 of us to get the top alone in! This blackened oak really allows the grain to be highlighted and add great texture to the space.

A few pics of a project we finished off a few weeks back. Custom cabinets with toe kick lighting and an oak slat wall. Movie nights are going to be insanely cool in this space!

We built this door along with a matching window to help the homeowner block out drafty air coming in from their sunroom. They both have made a huge difference already! Be on the lookout, this house will be featured in the Westgate Home and Garden tour

Lake house in Michigan? Oh yea we can help with that! We had the opportunity to build some really unique bunkbeds for a client in Michigan. The pictures don’t do justice for just how big they really are, featuring a Queen, Twin, and two Twin XL in each room. We can’t wait to share finished pictures of the space when the space is complete.
Out of state delivery’s can be very challenging as you can’t just quickly run to the shop to whip up pieces if needed. Hours of loading to best package the pieces to stay safe on the 5 hour journey. The overlooked tight switchback staircase that quickly becomes apparent shortly after arrival 😅. All of the bumps in the road make the beautiful end products that much more fulfilling.
Designed by over the course of almost a year while the house was being constructed. Great work across the board on these large pieces!
