Am I Wrong for Choosing Travel Over My Adult Daughter’s Financial Troubles? My daughter is buried in debt and upset that I’m using my retirement savings to travel instead of rescuing her.
She thinks being a parent means always putting your child first — even when that child is an adult. But after years of putting her needs before mine, skipping vacations, and budgeting every penny, I finally get to enjoy my freedom. I’m 71 now. I want to spend my time exploring the world, not paying off someone else’s mistakes. I gently told her: “I love you, but I won’t sacrifice my remaining years to clean up choices I didn’t make.”
She was hurt — maybe even angry — but I’ve earned this chapter of my life. (check in the first comment👇)
