We’re grabbing a cup of coffee with local contractors and giving them the chance to share their story. From where they started to where they are now, we’re excited to shine a light on the people behind the work.
Karl joined the Army at seventeen and learned to build — carpentry, masonry, houses from the studs up — before bringing those skills home to Colorado Springs. In March 2020, as the world shut down, he started Comfort Restorations | Water & Fire Damage Colorado Springs out of his house, working two full-time jobs for nine months to get it off the ground. He named it after his family’s ranch in Texas, Comfort Oaks, because he wanted the word to mean something. Over breakfast, when I asked what he’s most proud of, he didn’t name a project — he said “our impact.” Grateful for builders who serve something bigger than themselves. Meet Comfort Karl.
