The most recent project installed today. Thanks to Katie Wynn of WEM for taking the photo, to Julie Siglin likewise of WEM for trusting that I'd get it right, and to Royce Yoder for nhis help during the installation!

After our HVAC renovation last year to ensure proper preservation of the collection, we had one air handler we couldn't hide - but not anymore! We owe a huge thank you to Ray Kelso of Treebeard TM Designs, Inc for designing and building the perfect cover.

The latest commission now on it's way to it's new home in Palm Beach, Florida. A hallway table/cabinet made of curly maple and black dyed mahogany crotch veneer. Thanks Karen and Ira!

It's been almost a full year since I last posted here. Those of you who know me know the adventure that I have been on these past eleven months. But I am slowly getting back to work (up to 2 or 3 hours per day now...yippee!!) and even though it seems to take forever to complete a project, better forever than never! The photos are of two Wharton Esherick style stools that I just finished for a client. Onward!

It's been a while since I've posted here so this is long overdue. These are pieces that have left the shop recently or will be leaving soon. I also thought it might be nice to show a little bit of the process of getting from raw lumber to a finished piece on a large chest of drawers.

So...about a month ago my 35-year old planer just kind of exploded. I had purchased it using the prize money from winning Best of Show at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show in 1981 and it had surfaced thousands of board feet of lumber in those 35 years. It owed me nothing but like an old friend I did not want to see it go and I went in search of parts to repair it. I managed to repair it, ran the first piece through to see how it would go and the same thing occurred. However nice it is to realize that I have been in this business long enough to outlast some of my machinery it is still difficult to let go!! But, $4500 later, here is the newest addition to the shop. A 20", helical head, Powermatic planer. Maybe my new best friend!!!
