Mark's lifetime of travel has given him a yearning for simplicity, and portability. He desires that each of his creations be functional as well as beautiful. Kristen manages and runs all things business while wrangling the two small workshop helpers and traveling and working for an international humanitarian organization, which our business has given us the flexibility to do. We love owning our own business and hope that it shows through our work!

We have been pretty quiet over here in Oregon, but several of you have checked in to see how we are doing. We are still getting settled in to our house, learning new jobs, and exploring. We will get back to more regular posting soon as we figure out the flow of life and how Makari Designs can fit into our schedule, so hang tight! MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT! We are moving to Portland, Oregon! 😳 In a surprising turn of events several weeks back, we were both offered jobs in Portland, mine (Kristen) specifically a dream job in social services. We don’t know what the future for Makari Designs is, but we do know that we want to continue, it may just look a little different! For now, we are taking a pause on woodworking while we move (in 2.5 weeks!). Please stick around, it may be awhile, but we will be back! In the meantime, we have a lot of smaller wood items to sell, stay tuned for a post this afternoon or evening with everything we are selling, moving across the country is expensive!

P.S. Shop W***y insisted on coming with us, he didn’t think Mark’s videos would be as good without him (and he is right). More Shop W***y content coming soon!
