This Sycamore living room table has the most unique cross section I've seen. The tabletop is made from a slice of connected tree trunks, complete with a bullet lodged into it! The outside edges were cut into a figure 8 and all of the remaining bark stripped. Although we didn't fill the large voids with resin, we did fill all of the checks so that the top has a glass smooth finish. We built a double-barrel pedestal base to display the wood at a functional height.

One of two custom tabletops we built for .akron.

Upon delivery of the tops, we determined the base that was on site was undersized. With the soft opening being the next day, we had to take matters into our own hands and make one.

We began designing at 1:30pm and installed the finished base the following morning without taking any shortcuts. I opted for dyed black Ash to pay homage to the booths we built for .cle in 2019. Mortise & tenon for all joinery. The legs are turned in-house. All parts were dyed and finished before assembly so they could cure over night. I assembled the finished parts early the next morning with fast setting epoxy and took it down to Akron.

I'm really proud of my team for being able to immediately switch gears and hustle to get things done. This included working late despite not even being asked to do so. The teamwork on this job was incredible.

Today is Good Company's grand opening. Stop by and have a good one. In fact, make it a double.

Dining table in solid Ash. Two of the four capsule-shaped legs feature reeded patterns in both wood and brass to create balance alongside asymmetry. We kept the legs visible on the top's butcherblock surface by opting for thru- mortise & tenon joinery.

Dining table in American Walnut. The 2-1/2" thick, 72" round solid Walnut top extends to 108" on steel equalizer slides. The slides are recessed into the top as well as the base in order to conceal them.
