If you are looking for ways to give, Avery County could use your help. Banner Elk is my hometown and there are good things happening there. Local heroes are helping fix roads, the National Guard dropped supplies, Mountain Electric is in the area working to restore power. Lowes Food has the lights on and will hopefully be open soon. The Town of Banner Elk is a wonderful hub offering cell service, Wi-Fi and meals.

Lower Avery County could really use some help now. It's where I went to High School. Newland First Baptist Church is the official Dropoff and Distribution site for Avery County-accepting food and supplies.
Donations can also be sent to Feeding Avery Families.

Samaritans Purse in Boone is lining up volunteers in the high country, to volunteer visit: Samaritan's Purse.

In any home, the table is a place where families and friends gather to be together, share a meal, conversation, and love. It is something that transcends cultural and economic barriers. It is a place where meals are enjoyed and provisions are celebrated.

Our Banqueting Table symbolizes both what we do and why we do it. It is not just a place of business, but also a place of community and giving back. Our goal is to provide a place where people can shop, gather, and give. It’s a place where all are welcome around our table and where we help others share a meal around their table.

Our name comes from a verse in the Bible that represents Gods love for each of us. He welcomes everyone to sit at his table and enjoy the feast - the lame, the poor, the sick included. His grace and love abound.
