Paula's Shabby Cottage

Paula's Shabby Cottage Furniture Artist Located in Cleburne, Texas My name is Paula, I was born and raised right here in Cleburne, Texas. I painted my first piece while in high school!

I'm just a simple country girl that has a passion for painting and re-vamping furniture. I have been refinishing furniture for many many years! It has now been over 13 yrs that I decided to turn my passion into a small at-home business. Many have asked if I have a shop or booth. So far I do well keeping it right here at home. Although a shop and or booth would possibly be nice, that is just added

work for me! I would need to load and haul my pieces to a location and added overhead too! But, do not let this deter you from purchasing from me as those with shops create their work at home too! I offer shabby to one-of-a-kind pieces. I not only have a passion for painting, I sew and do all sorts of crafts therefore you will not only see furniture from time to time you will see my other creations as well. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Feel free to browse my past work to get an idea of what I have to offer!

Well friends, I don't have any new masterpieces to share just yet.

June is a very difficult month for me. On June 3, 2003, I lost my beautiful firstborn daughter at just 18 years old, and her birthday is June 12. Yesterday also marked six months since I lost my husband and became a widow.

Grief is a strange thing. It can be overwhelming and exhausting. Some days I pour myself into my furniture and projects. Other days I find myself in a daze, feeling numb and lacking the motivation to do much of anything.

I take it one day at a time because that's all I know to do.

I'm not sharing this to ask for sympathy. I'm simply asking for prayers as I make my way through this month and continue learning how to navigate life as a widow. If you've never experienced this kind of loss, it's hard to explain the weight of it. Some days are easier than others, but the love never goes away, and neither does the missing.

I am grateful for every one of you who follows along, supports my little business, comments on my posts, and shares a kind word when I need it most. It means alot to me!

For now, I'll keep putting one foot in front of the other, trusting God, loving my family, working on my projects when I can, and holding close the memories of those I miss so dearly.

Please keep me in your prayers this month. 🤍
