Clarence Arts

Clarence Arts A Society of Artists promoting the Arts in Clarence, NY. The Summer Show was discontinued around 1999 when show attendance fell short of a profitable event.

The Clarence Arts and Crafts Society History

The Clarence Arts and Crafts Society began back in 1976 when a group of about ten women who knew one another through mutual friendships or their time volunteering with the Town’s Welcome Wagon group, one night at a dinner party decided to put on an arts and craft show with their treasures trove of fine handmade/crafted goods. Toni Marks, a ceramics sh

op owner and Patti Gamin organized the first of many to come art shows at the Clarence Town Park Club House, where at least a dozen tables were filled back in 1976 for their first Summer Show. Known artisans/crafters at the time who joined in the newly organized group “The Original Clarence Arts and Crafts Society”, (Toni Marks, Patti Gamin, Rose Carter, Rose Kunowski, Louise Bennett, Janet Jury) two of which who are still actively involved to this day with the Society and Show are Rose Carter and Patti Gamin. Their first Fall Show held the first full weekend in November and has continued so over the years showcasing juried artisans and crafters with quality products. The Society is a non-profit organization that promotes Arts and Crafts in the community, supported by proceeds from the Society’s Arts and Craft Annual Basket Raffle.

🎨 MEET THE MEMBER: LYN LOZINSKY 🧵👜

We’re continuing our Meet the Member series with one of our newest Clarence Arts & Crafts Society members, Lyn Lozinsky, owner of Totally Toteable Totes! ✨

Lyn has been creating since 2008, when she and her husband, Michael, started their business together. Lyn handles the creative side of the operation, while Michael takes care of marketing, shipping, and all the other things that “keep her sane!” 😊

A quilter at heart, Lyn began making bags as a way to use up her fabric stash. As many crafters can probably relate… that plan didn’t quite work out! 😂

Today, Lyn creates a wonderful variety of handmade items, including:
👜 Tote bags & purses
👶 Diaper bags
🍽️ Table runners
🧵 Small quilted items

She primarily works with quilting cotton, but has expanded her creations to include vinyl, leather, and cork, adding even more variety and personality to her work.

Lyn especially enjoys the face-to-face interaction with customers at craft shows, making those personal connections one of her favorite parts of being a maker. She and Michael also have a successful Etsy shop (https://www.google.com/goto?url=CAESZgHrOzAVSyQu47Z0oa0bNAPayc2yLgMlIvlUfXDIF-XS9RF42575R24nf81CGyqya17dIEkLhuU9WOz5S8FdxRYYmQB4uhTlGIIWc6DWUIE6jvKA0eXwo99hPSOYlDehR10Od6WVQg ) allowing their creations to reach customers beyond the local craft-show scene.

We’re thrilled that Lyn joined the Clarence Arts & Crafts Society in 2026—and even more excited that this is her third year exhibiting at our annual show! 🎉

Please join us in welcoming Lyn to the Society and getting to know the talented maker behind Totally Toteable Totes!

❤️ Thanks for being part of CACS, Lyn!

✨ Meet the Member: Kathy Hohensee! ✨

As we continue our Meet the Member series, we’re excited to introduce you to Kathy Hohensee, who has been a member of the Clarence Arts & Crafts Society for about six years!

💎 Kathy creates with BLING! 💎

For the past three years, Kathy has been transforming vintage jewelry and other sparkly gems into beautiful, one-of-a-kind creations. From dazzling ladies’ baseball caps and framed Christmas trees to decorative boxes, angels, elephants, and other unique pieces, Kathy’s work is truly designed to catch your eye!

What does she love most about her art? She loves giving collected jewelry a new life—and, of course, adding plenty of “Bling”! ✨

When she’s not creating, Kathy enjoys spending time with her Maine C**n cats, Martha and Millie, and her little dog, Henry. She also loves making new friends and, perhaps most importantly, making people laugh! ❤️

We’re so happy Kathy is part of the Clarence Arts & Crafts Society family!

Be sure to follow along as we continue introducing you to the talented and creative members who make our society so special. 🎨🧶🪡✨
