Pool table felt isn't just for looks , here's how to choose the right color.
Most people think felt color is purely aesthetic. There are a few practical things worth knowing.
Darker colors like green and burgundy hide chalk dust and show wear less over time. Lighter colors , blue, grey, tan , show wear and staining more quickly but look sharp in modern game rooms.
Speed also varies by material. Worsted felt (found on competition tables) plays faster with less friction than traditional woven cloth.
