Plenty of sanding and several coats later, we are all ready for the ball. Last picture is where we started.

The trick is in the calibration and making sure everything is lined up as perfectly as possible.

I think within .05° is within an acceptable tolerance.

First time working in a production style/mindset.

A gourmet popcorn shop wants 3 serving trays to offer as a set with their three most popular varieties.

A bunch if ash wood that I pulled out of a log pile bound for firewood will make up the majority. Then there is some cherry wood that will add some character.

It’s been very interesting to resed the thought process for production as opposed to singular creation.

A few days ago, my black locust cookies came back from the mill.

After finding the logs on the side if the road, they are cut, stacked, and stickered so they can dry.

All 19 of them, each around 21” - 24” across, perfect for little tables and possibly, when cut in half, wall shelves.

I only have plans for 3 so, if you are looking for a unique table, reach out and let’s talk.

I needed a bigger bench and had a bunch if salvaged wood I’ve collected over the summer. I do enjoy fine finish work but it’s fun to go back to basic construction and just make something.

The nice thing about this little project is I get to do it however I want and, so far, this has cost me a grand total of $9.63 because I needed longer screws.

Because this bench is taller, I’ll be able to work long and feel better because I won’t have to lean over.

Little updates to the shop all the time.
