Well, we learned something new!

Our Italian greyhound puppies loved to lay out in the warm sun during these nice spring days. Little did we know that Italian Greyhounds can actually get a suntan just like humans can. When we went to retake this puppy's picture, we wondered what in the heck was going on under his eyes and around his head: he looked so different. We knew they had been outside sunning a lot, so we looked it up and sure enough, they can get a suntan! We already knew they could get a sunburn (it's so important to keep sunscreen on them in the summer!), but we had no idea they could actually tan. And just like humans, the tan will fade.

On the left is the puppy when he was younger, before he’d ever been out in the sun. On the right, his skin pigment shows through, especially on his head and his side. Very interesting and so important to know!
