One of the things many don't know about my business is the amount of unique one of a kind pieces we build from salvaged materials. That being said, projects collect and once a year I purge. Its sale time in Chippewa falls. The city wide sales are a great excursion for the junk shopper. Finish By Design located at 111 west spring street chippewa falls 715 723 6400 will be open at 9Am tomorrow. There's something for everyone. Here's a few pics. Stop in and come shopping.

I never know what's coming to the shop next. This was an interesting project. Imported from Laos. Made of all natural materials. Wood and glue, no nails, plastics or metal. This is the second one I've repaired. It manufactured for the hmong community. The color match was tricky. A combination of orange shellac with a touch of dye added. Cool dragon carved into the wood. I believe the wood species is Kempas which has a unique odor similar to Vicks v***r rub

Another project finished up for a client. The handkerchief drawer had some big holes. The walnut diamonds created some nice contrast and solved the problem. Interesting feathery woodgrain, the piece is mostly made of elm.
