Need procurement contacts for those involved in disaster response preparedness for this healthcare crisis at a federal, state, and county level. I’ve received many messages of support and now have factories on standby in US and Canada ready to produce inexpensive beds and other goods for pop up hospitals.

I encourage you to support our communities by buying from local small businesses producing goods in the US. The obvious impact of the shutdown is to restaurants and bars. Let’s think beyond foodservice and find ways to support more of our neighbors through our purchase decisions. Share ideas you have with us. Let’s get creative!

As we watch a wave of cases hit the US and overwhelm hospitals globally, I’m wondering how I might assist in preparing for makeshift hospitals in California. I certainly can’t make ventilators, but beds are needed for the ill. I have a design concept for an inexpensive wood treatment bed that could be produced in my shop and by other US manufacturers. I have a wood shop ready to rock and a willing crew able to contribute to the emergency supply chain, locally.
