Tuesday’s Tidbit 🌲

Black walnut is full of natural character — from subtle grain movement to unique features like pinholes and natural checking.

On this piece, the bow tie inlay is more than decorative. It’s used to stabilize a natural crack in the slab, helping prevent it from spreading over time.

Paired with solid inset legs, this table blends modern design with the raw beauty of the wood — letting every detail tell part of the story.

Yesterday’s delivery was a fun reminder that custom work isn’t always about building something brand new — sometimes it’s about reimagining what you already have.

A customer asked us to take the two tables in her dining areas — one in the main dining room and one in her nook — and craft custom maple tops finished with a durable, heat- and beverage-resistant coating.

Maple is a fantastic choice for projects like this: strong, clean, timeless, and able to take a hard-wearing topcoat beautifully.

There’s something so satisfying about giving well-loved furniture a fresh life while keeping the pieces that already fit the home. 🌿✨

Sometimes the sweetest moments are the ones we don’t plan.

While flipping through a local magazine this week, we stumbled upon an article featuring a Chico real estate agent and her client… and there they were — our pieces — quietly grounding the space in every photo.

We had no idea the shoot took place in a home where we’d recently built custom furniture. Seeing our work show up unexpectedly, woven into someone’s story, was such a meaningful reminder of why we do what we do.

Our furniture may leave the shop, but its story keeps going — in homes, in families, and sometimes even in magazine pages we don’t see coming.
