On Monday the EPA finalized the Clean Power Plan rule that will vastly increase the use of clean renewable power nationwide, reducing air pollution by decreasing our reliance on coal power plants. Information released by the White House, just before President Obama’s announcement of the Clean Power Plan, indicated the rule will prevent up to 3,600 premature deaths, 90,000 asthma attacks in children and 1,700 heart attacks a year in reducing the coal-generated electricity by nearly half within the next 15 years.
