Hello ISUG Fans,

It is with great sadness that we have to close ISUG-TECH due to lack of funds to operate as the legal entity that it is today. The Board has worked diligently trying to operate the organization on a shoe-string budget but expenses for insurance, website, zoom, email services, mailbox, taxes, and fees are more then we can afford via memberships. The Board of Directors voted on April 25, 2024 to dissolve ISUG as a CA non-profit mutual benefit corporation at the end of the current fiscal year (which is June 2024). We had a Special Call meeting with the active members on June 27,2024 to vote on the matter and it passed with a majority vote. Both the April 25 and June 27 votes met their respective quorums. Thus the Board is taking the appropriate legal steps to close the organization. We have legal and CPA fees we must pay with the remaining expenses. We will reimburse any current paid member their pro-rated membership dues once all other financial obligations are met.

There is a group of Board members that are passionate about continuing the mission of ISUG but under a new format that would be not so expensive. As they continue to work forward in planning what the new ISUG would look like, we plan to keep you informed and invite you to join it.

ISUG-TECH 2023 Annual Meeting Notice

September 26th

The Independent SAP Technical User Group (ISUG-TECH) will hold its annual member meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 11:00 CT. The meeting will be held through via Zoom and you must register at the link provided below to attend.

All members are invited to attend, although Associate Members will not be permitted to vote on any pending action required by the membership. We hope you will participate in this important aspect of your ISUG-TECH membership. If you are unable to attend, minutes of the meeting will be available afterwards, as well as (we hope) a recording of the meeting.

ISUG-TECH 2024-2025 Term Board Member Nomination Period

The nomination period for this year's election is Monday, October 2nd until 5:00pm EDT on Friday, October 13th, 2023.

Any member may nominate another member to serve; however, only regular (paid) members may vote in the election. Nominees must be both qualified for the position they are nominated for and be willing to serve for their nomination to be considered. The available positions are listed on the nomination form and you may complete it multiple times to nominate more than one person.

The election will run from November 6th - 17th, 2023 *.

(*) California State law permits a non-profit organization to forgo an election if there are no contested positions on the ballot.

PowerBuilder 2022 R2 new features

The full session will cover new features in PowerBuilder 2022 R2, including demos. Some of the new features that will include the WebBroswer upgrade from Chromium Embedded Framework to Microsoft Edge Webview2, PDF Builder enhancements, Native SMTP email support, New TabbedBar control, Autocomplete for the DDDW and DDLB controls. This will only be an excerpt of the session as it is still under development.

Bruce Armstrong is a development lead with Integrated Data Services (IDS). Prior to joining IDS in 2004 he spent 15 years as an independent consultant doing PowerBuilder development. He is an Appeon MVP and has done sessions on PowerBuilder at Sybase TechWaves, SAP TechEds, Appeon Elevate conferences, local user group meetings in Columbia, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, England, Italy and France as well as online webcasts.

PowerClient and Cloud App Launcher (CAL) Enhancements

Appeon PowerBuilder 2022 has expanded the depth and breadth of its deployment capabilities with several Cloud application deployment enhancements for PowerClient deployed applications and PowerServer. In addition to User-specific deployment and installation options, applications can now be published publicly to better integrate with users of virtualized desktop environments. Part of this review will be enhanced targeting of deployment/installation location and additional options to include enhanced ability to customize the look and feel of the Cloud App Launcher with custom graphics.

We'll show how these enhancements integrate with PBAutoBuild, Git SCC, and platforms like DevOps to achieve a seamless CI/CD solution. We will also review how this capability can be approached/emulated using PowerBuilder 2021 if need be.
