I don't carry name brand mattresses, discontinued mattresses, overstock or anything else Just brand new Five Star mattresses. Simmons and Serta own Five Star Mattresses to appeal to the low end market. Five Star is the same quality, same warranty as Serta but without the Serta name. Five Star just doesn't advertise like Serta does. So for name brands, you are paying double to have that name on the
label. Also Five Star, unlike Serta, doesn't have minimum pricing. Minimum pricing is where the manufacturer tells you the least you can sell your product for. For example, Serta will tell their dealers that they can not sell a certain mattress for less than $1,000. The dealers can sell the mattress for more than $1,000 but not less.So all discount Serta stores sell the same mattress for pretty much the same price.The 80% off, 60% off, coupons, an additional $100 off, clearance sale don't matter. This is part of the reason I did not want to be a Serta store. Five Star lets me sell at whatever price I want. I can offer the lowest prices because I have the lowest overhead. I own the building where my store is so I don't pay rent, I don't have a delivery truck ,etc.,etc. If you look at the JC Penney website, you'll see that I'm 1/2 price. J C Penney is the only major retailer for Five Star. If possible, I would like to place the writing at the bottom of the page. I don't think that people really want to listen to a list of reasons. My customers don't want to be informed. They want to get a great mattress at a great price with a warranty made by a company that they can trust.
