Love this project ! Professional couple purchased a renovated urban home in the heart of Chicago.
Of course the first purchase is the rug
( thank you Oscar Isberian ) .
The rug goal was a tribal or contemporary rug, yet when this traditional rug was shown for comparison, the couple said in unison

What does 75 look like?
A surprise birthday party hosted by my daughter’s family included a small treasured group of family and friends.
My daughter and son in law commented your friends are ‘good people’ !
My friends commented Andy and Britt are wonderful and your grandchildren are delightful (13,12 &9). Diversity was represented well ( countries Russia, India, Columbia ) and professions ( entrepreneurs, experts in AI, investing, shipping and medical -and my hairdresser guru ).

My goals have changed, as aging rings a different bell from decades ago.
I treasure this group who celebrated best in life with me, my-family and friends! AND Missed loved ones too far away to attend !

PS closely check out stalker behind the 75 balloons was my son in law who patiently kept the numbers in proper order.

A vibrant color pattern exquisitely matched on each cushion, is a showstopper! With a BW photo ..the magic of this sofa .. p**f .. disappears. While not everyone’s cup of tea, the sofa is striking !

Great quote: Creatives are free spirits - often limitless for new design concepts.
For Interior Designers executing ‘creation’ is complex as we ‘manufacturer’ each interior area with dozens of objects, furnishings, flooring and technology ( that changes daily ) with vetted trades.

To complete a home , I like to accent the ‘working creation’ - with the unexpected

Revisting -one of our favorite projects is a family room in a turn -of -the century home , close to Lake Michigan. With 5 children, we chose a whimsical indoor-outdoor fabric on comfy bamboo chairs, a large sectional anchored with a classic oriental rug.

Art- matching clients taste in Art to their personal aesthetic and then specifying the art to enhance their hones is more challenging than crafting the interior design- I have found. Presently I am sourcing art for 2 unique homes - a contemporary out of state residence as well as a vintage home locally close to Lake Michigan. Remarkable the same artist pieces can work in both unique homes !

Jessica Pisano’s piece caught my eye today.
How many Birds have you seen in art ?
These wings are uniquely turned in, the 2 birds break the rule of 3s and where is their tree ?

Still I am smitten with this calm zen like attention grabbing piece .

2025 interior design tip. Usually large scaled pieces and any wall are most effective. Avoid postage stamps on walls.

2025 Interior design tips ;
Window treatments should be functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. We were inspecting our clients window installation and decided to create a video highlighting the simplicity and precision. Custom remote control woven blinds in a bay window provided privacy for a close neighbor and the programmed remote made it easy to synch the adjoining windows shade heights . This Northshore dining room retains natural light with much needed privacy.
