Dear friends and customers
With a very heavy heart I have to announce that our beautiful store Proper Bonkers will be closing.
We had a great adventure, as Irena liked to say, and we enjoyed it but now it's the time to close the door.
We had our dream but sometimes the dreams are exactly that, just dreams. And that's ok.
We had a chance to try and enjoy meeting a lot of interesting people and sell the things we like in the place we loved.
Thanks for your business, company, friendships, memories...
I will treasure these memories for the rest of my life
I will be here every day this week for our closing sale from 10am to 7,8,9...
On Sunday the 10th we got to start packing and moving stuff that's left so we can be completely out of the space by Thursday 14th.
If you want to give Proper Bonkers one last chance , this is the week to do it.

We have tried our best but now it's time to close this chapter.
We are grateful that we got to try and follow our dream for awhile but sometimes dreams don't come true and that's all there is.
We appreciate everyone who got anything from our store and we hope you will enjoy it and treasure it for years to come. I know I will have a lot of beautiful memories about our special little store, our great adventure as Irena liked to say.
I will be here every day for our closing sale week , this week, from 10am to 7,8,9...

We are back to our hours 12-7 Tuesday through Saturday, closed on Sundays, and we have some new arrivals too,
2018 Martin road series guitar, with case and bunch of extra stuff ( not included in 50% off deal but we are very open to serious offers),
Washburn dreadnought guitar from 2000's , good condition, big sound, good guitar all around , a selection of really cool mid Century modern lamps, three headed one Danish teak tulip flower design, brass one and our favorite multicolored one , all original shades etc.

This is Boogie.
He arrived in to our little family sometimes in summer of 2005. A little furry ball no more than 20 inches at the time with very smiley little silly face, very curious from the beginning and seemed to be happy all the time. Grew up to a very handsome dog in a course of that first year but always kept that innocent puppy mentality throughout his life. Never carried much about ball catching but many a football (soccer) ball fell victim TO Boogies sharp teeth. His favorite was scarring the s**t out of geese around North pound park, he loved that! Before Irena came up with name for Proper Bonkers the store was supposed to be called Boogies this Or that ( shop, vintage, eclectic etc)
Boogie loved Irena's cooking and was her constant companion in the kitchen , or in the garden , LOVED French fries!
Boogie didn't like storms, fireworks, loud people and loud dogs, groomers,( really the only person he ever let groom him and brush him was Irena. And that would last for hours with a lot of plastic bags needed but no treats. Just two of them playing this game and enjoying communicating honestly and with love and trust. It was really a special thing to witness and be around )
I always felt great pleasure when someone would make a comment how well Boogie seem to fit Irena , Marlon and me, and vice versa. We were a family.
Boogie was an old soul. We knew that. Never clingy, but always affectionate and always on the lookout to protect. Very oppiniated but very obeying too.
Boogie was a best friend anyone could ever have. Boogie was my brother.
Two days ago , after we both had a French fries for breakfast, he lay his head in my lap, and went to play in the clouds. He had enough. And he knew it. We both knew it.
Travel light my devoted faithful friend, I love you so much and I will miss you forever.

Dear friends and customers
Due to some major restructuring we are going to cut our hours for the rest of the month of August to 3-7 Tuesday through Saturday and we will be closed on Sunday and Monday.
We will also be available by the appointment too, and if you choose to do so please send us a text to 773 789 1124 and I will get back to you asap.

Just a couple of new arrivals we got in the store, Original Itzak Tarkey on canvas , vintage Wurlitzer accordion-early 60's in a great condition and Original Aldo Tura Italian Bar cart , early 60's in lacquered goatskin parchment, very collectible and hard to find
Also we are going to be closed on Sunday starting in July. We will be closed for 4th of July for 3 days (2nd, 3rd & 4th) , otherwise open everyday 11-7.
We are still doing our 50% off sale on everything so swing by and enjoy Bonkers deals!
