It’s been a busy season of making and in general with life. As a result, I have dropped the ball on socials. So, let’s aim for a restart.

I was rushing to finish two new pieces in order to apply for Garden & Gun Best in the South. One of those pieces was something that has been in my head for a while and had the push to get across the finish line before applications closed. This is the Walker cabinet.

It’s named after our oldest daughter who is creative and strong. She is structured and has a soft side to her too. She got to have input on this piece as well and wanted circles and soft edges and she likes it, and I hope you do too.

It is now available to be ordered and can be customized to fit your needs: size, wood, leather.

The Katherine Chair officially makes her debut.

This chair started with a mistake! I was mostly through a pair of Lydia chairs when I noticed that I could not fix my mistakes on the frames of the chairs. So, I took some time away from them to brainstorm a new design. This design is a wood forward design built from solid wood, leather and upholstered cushions. Much like the Lydia chair, this one allows you to sit cross-legged and curl up while enjoying a book or show. One of my favorite aspects of this chair is the solid panel on the back that makes it a showstopper from all angles.

When creating pieces for people, I want to help add extra textures that can create intrigue or a softness to the wood. Leather is one of those timeless materials. We use the whole hide to minimize waste. Smaller cutoffs turn into sample pieces for people to feel and touch and interact with. There are more materials I would love to help incorporate or find more ways to add leather into a piece just for you.

Hey y’all, I have been thinking on these for quite some time. The second one is finished and the only thing left to do is fully figure out the cushions. I have been going back and forth after seeing them at this point.

Everyone makes mistakes, right? Yeah! Back in December I was working on getting some jigs together for the Lydia chair. It was going really well until I looked at the frames and realized I had messed up the front legs beyond repair. Everything was too high. So, I took some time to think through designs and how to make this mistake into a design worthy enough to fit into the Lydia line. So, here we are getting close to the Lydia Chair 2.0.

I have really wanted to find pieces of wood that make drawers stand out, especially when it is a side that you will see. It’s like a hidden gem. So often nowadays, the insides of drawers are an afterthought instead of intentionally made.

I want to strive to be intentional in all that I build so that every part is as beautiful as the whole of the piece.
