OUTSTANDING service organization!

The Charlotte Optimists display the flags around the Courthouse on Memorial Day, Flag Day June 14, July 4, Patriots Day 9/11, Veterans' Day, and major voting days. They are also responsible for putting up the flags on the main streets in the spring and storing them for the winter.

Contact Cheryl Starr at [email protected] if you are interested in sponsoring a flag honoring a veteran or veterans. Funds collected are used to buy new flags and poles. The initial cost runs from $60 to $500 depending on how many names are on the flagpole. After that, the yearly renewal is only $35.
